FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?
1. Could I have my 2 front windows tinted?
The law states that there has to be 70% Visible Light Transmission (VLT) on both your drivers and passengers windows. Please contact us for more information.
2. Will the film affect my rear window heater lines?
No, the film does not affect the heating element and it can be used as usual.
3. Is the back window fitted in one piece?
All rear windows are fitted with one piece of film.
4. Should my windows have to be clean upon arrival?
No, because all glass inside and out is cleaned prior to application, we do however need to know if you think your vehicle has been tinted before, or you've tried to tint it yourself, possibly leaving transparent adhesive on the windows, which then can affect the application of the film.
5. How long before I can roll down my windows?
We recommend that you allow 48 - 72 hours (dependant on time of year) before opening windows. This is to allow the film to dry and gives the adhesive time to cure. (e.g. in summer the film will dry out alot quicker than opposed to winter).
6. What is the best products I clean my windows with?
Once you have given it 48 - 72 hours or more you can use any glass cleaner as long as it is a non-abrasive liquid and does not contain Ammonia. Use a soft cloth, the use of a Micro fibre cloth is recommended.
7. Does the film bubble up after time?
No, we only use the highest quality SunTek Window Films imported from the USA. The film is specially designed to withstand extreme temperatures.
8. If I would like to sell my vehicle, or return a lease/finance vehicle can the film be removed?
Due to the quality of our films, all film can be removed safely without any damage to the glass or vehicle and put back to its original state.
9. Why on some windows do you get a silver line around the edge?
On some windows, mainly non-winding, there are black dots around the edge of the glass. This is called the dot matrix and is produced using a Teflon type material, which is factory fitted. When the film is applied it sticks to the dot matrix and not the glass, which traps air and water between the dots giving it the silver look. In some cases it can't be helped where as others will evaporate and look fine. It all depends on the thickness of the dot matrix, this will vary depending on the make and model of the car.
10. Do you offer a guarantee with your work?
Yes, we guarantee the film and installation for life, as long as you own your vehicle.
11. What does A.S stand for?
It stands for All Star, we went by this name initially in 2011 when the company was formed. However in 2012 we decided to shorten it and keep it cleaner thus renaming it A.S Tints.
